Travels thru West Texas - Putnam Texas Abandoned buildings!

I travel between NM and Texas quite a bit. I always pass this setting along side of the freeway in Putnam Texas. Never ever do I stop due to time restrictions. But this time I decided to stop and take some images for once. The downside of this, it was 32 F° the day I decided to take these images.

It was cold with out a doubt and windy. But with the combination of the subject matter and the weather it turned out really well.

Like I mentioned. I always drive by this location on my way to Fort Worth. It’s ususally pretty warm and I don’t travel much back to DFW in the colder months. But as this days luck had it, I had the time and the camera ready.

As you can see, this is rural Texas. But if you were to look this town up on google maps, you’d see different photos showing a vibrant setting and no gutted buildings or ravaged insides.

So, as you can see. This was a very chilly day. The images are grainy in some spots. But with that. There is where the beauty lays. The choice of film played a big part in how the images turned out and I am pleased with them.

Sadly, this is a common site thru out West Texas small towns. I hope that by capturing these images. I, we as photographers can capture the history and preserve then for the future.

I do hope you enjoyed the images.
